Where will Bronny James, the son of legendary NBA star LeBron James, end up playing college basketball? There might be four favorites in his recruitment for now.
Bronny James has been a popular topic in the college basketball recruiting world for a couple of years. Of course, he’s the son of one of the greatest NBA players ever, so there’s going to be a lot of hype when he takes the floor. Thankfully, Bronny James has mostly been able to live up to that hype, as he’s one of the top recruits in his class.
247Sports’ Composite Rankings list Bronny James as the No. 6 combo guard and No. 30 overall recruit in the 2023 class. He already has scholarship offers from several major programs.
According to Yahoo! Sports, though, four schools might be standing out. However, the overall status of his recruitment is mostly unknown.
Duke, North Carolina, Kansas and Kentucky have all shown early interest but the status of James’ recruitment is unknown.
Duke and Kentucky have been mentioned for years now.
The James family has a strong connection to the Blue Devils, as LeBron played for Coach K on Team USA. Of course, Coach K is retiring following the 2021-22 season, so we’ll see if that connection stays strong.
There’s also the possibility that Bronny James will attempt to go straight from high school to the NBA like his dad. He could also play overseas or in the G-League for a season.
