Several quarterbacks have been mentioned in trade rumors over the past few weeks. However, former Philadelphia Eagles president Joe Banner believes only one blockbuster deal will go down this offseason.
Banner correctly predicted that Carson Wentz would be the only marquee quarterback traded in 2021. This time around, he believes Deshaun Watson will be the only superstar signal-caller moved in the coming months.
“Last year I predicted that the only highly paid and established QB to move would be Wentz. Took a ton of heat,” Banner tweeted. “This year the only top tier, top paid QB to move will be Watson. All the rest last year was content filler, and the same will be true this year.”

Watson’s legal situation hasn’t cleared up yet, but it doesn’t sound like his trade value has taken a huge hit.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, multiple teams are willing to make a deal to land Watson without a settlement of his 22 civil lawsuits.
When he’s available, Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. In 2020, he had 4,823 passing yards, 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
A blockbuster trade involving Watson would shake up the NFL, especially if he ends up on a playoff contender.
