Michigan legend Denard Robinson is one of the newest members of Jim Harbaugh’s coaching staff, joining as the Wolverines’ new Assistant Director of Player Personnel. And Harbaugh couldn’t be happier.
In an official statement on Robison’s hiring, Harbaugh said that he will be “a positive addition to our program” and is excited to have him back. He praised Robinson for his energy and being so active on the Michigan campus.
“Denard is an energetic guy who always has a smile on his face,” Harbaugh said in a statement. “He will be a positive addition to our program in both the player personnel and player development areas. Denard has been an active member of this campus and we know he will bring that same enthusiasm and love for Michigan to our building every day. We are excited to have Denard back home at Michigan helping our team.”
Robinson spent the last two seasons working for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was Jacksonville’s offensive quality control coach in 2020 and served as a scouting assistant in 2021.

In four years at Michigan, Denard Robinson became one of the greatest quarterbacks in school history. He is the Wolverines’ all-time leader in total offense and contributed touchdowns. Robinson also holds numerous records for the NCAA and Big Ten Conference as well.
But Robinson’s college success didn’t translate well to the NFL. He was a fifth-round pick by the Jaguars in 2013 and lasted four seasons, mostly as a running back.
But now he’s back home and ready to help the Wolverines and judging by his own reaction, he’s as excited as Jim Harbaugh is.
What kind of impact will Denard Robinson have at Michigan?
